RECENT WALKS:
Eunice and Dorothy rode
with Chelane down to the Mid-America Regional Convention. Once there, we
joined Eunice's sister and Chelane's dad.
This statue of Lincoln the lawyer was in the park
on the March 9 walk in Urbana,
IL.
We walked in Birmingham on March 15 and the
snow and ice were still factors with which we had to
contend.
Dangerously thin ice on the river.
Then, on March 29, Teresa and
Chelane went down to the Oubache State Park event south of Fort Wayne,
IN.
The weather
was sunny but windy and the trails were muddy, so they had us do a revised route all
on pavement.
Chelane did the YRE in
Blissfield on April 5. One of the houses had a funny display out
front . . .
A neighbor said the homeowner was in Cancun, but would be
returning the next day, so the display would be gone soon.

The Washtenaw Wanderers are hosting their Fairy
Door event in Ann Arbor on Sunday, April
6.
On Saturday, April 12, we're going to
Group Walk on the Rails to Trails walk in Stockbridge.
On Saturday, April
26, we'll Group Walk in Jackson.
Memorial Day weekend we'll do our 2008
Trip to the Mammoth
Cave
region in Kentucky. In general, the trip
will leave early on Saturday, May 24
from Lansing and head
through Ohio into Kentucky where we'll do a walk in Bernheim
Arboretum. On Sunday, May
25, we are hosting a Guided Walk event in Mammoth Caves that
includes the Grand
Avenue Tour. Then on Monday, May 26
, we'll do the 2
state walk in Louisville , and then head
home. We'll be taking Chelane's van, unless we get enough folks
for a bigger van. Please send a $25 deposit to reserve your seat for
this trip.
CLUB STUFF:
We didn't have a quorum at the
special meeting in Birmingham for our elections for VP and
Treasurer. So, at this point, we have one nomination for VP,
Teresa Hatswell, and one for Treasurer, Joan Ritter (for her second
term). If you have any other nominations please email them to me,
and CC Dot
Meyers also. I'll close
the nominations at our
Stockbridge walk, and if we have a quorum we'll vote and if
not, I'll be asking for your email votes at that time.
