RECENT WALKS:

We did the 6K Town walk in Plymouth and went through the Ice Festival area before finishing.  The sculptures were very intricate and beautiful.

I liked this dragon the best.

Then we walked in Owosso on Feb 23.  It was a beautiful, sunny day but we had to keep our eyes on the ground to look for icy or wet spots.  Fortunately we all made it without any falls.

Stepping carefully on the packed snow over the river trail.

COMING UP NEXT:

We determined our schedule for the next 6 months.  The whole thing will be posted over at the Michigan Volkssporting site.

The Mid-America Regional Conference is going to be at the Eastland Suites & Conference Center in Urbana, IL on March 8 and 9 .  I will be leaving Lansing on Friday, March 7 at 3 pm and returning on Sunday, March 9.  I will stop in Marshall to pick up folks that want to carpool down there.  There will be a walk on the campus of the University of Illinois on Saturday the 8th and another walk through a local park on Sunday, March 9.  There will also be a swim event on both days.

On Saturday, March 15, at 10 am we're going to Group Walk in Birmingham.

On March 29, we're heading over to Indiana for the Oubach State Park event.  We'll meet in
Marshall at 7:30 am for carpooling.

The Washtenaw Wanderers are hosting their Fairy Door event in Ann Arbor on Sunday, April 6.

On Saturday, April 12, we're going to Group Walk on the Rails to Trails walk in Stockbridge.

Memorial Day weekend we'll do our 2008 Trip to the Mammoth Cave region in Kentucky.  Plans are being formed in cooperation with a local club down there.  In general, the trip will leave early on Saturday, May 24 from Lansing and head through Ohio into Kentucky where we'll do a walk in Bernheim Arboretum.  On Sunday, May 25, we are hosting a Guided Walk event in Mammoth Caves that includes the Grand Avenue Tour.  Then on Monday, May 26 , we'll do the 2 state walk in Louisville , and then head home.  We'll be taking a van, unless we get enough folks for a bus.  Please send a $25 deposit to reserve your seat for this trip.
