We walked with the Washtenaw Wanderers in Plymouth. There were 10 of us and Joan met up with us later to make 11. The weather was great for December! Plymouth had lots of decorations all over town and lots of Christmas trees in the central square. It was really beautiful as we were driving out of town after dinner. Pictured are Chelane, Larry, Glenda, Patricia, Dot, Stefan, Susan, Nina and Karen K. Eunice was behind the camera. The Ambling Michigan program begins in January! I'll have the books at the Fairy Walk event in Ann Arbor on Jan 7th, or you can send me a SASE (6"x9") with $5 made out to Great Lakes Amblers. If you want it before the 1st, email me to work out arrangements. This is what the patch is going to look like . . .
There's a new discussion forum that I set up on Google Groups called "Michigan Volkssporting". I encourage you to go join that group! Use the link below, then click on "Join this group" The venue for our meeting in February has been set. We'll meet at the hospital to start the walk, then after the walk we'll head over to Mr. B's Rustic Tavern at the corner of Michigan & Grand River for our meeting. If you are interested, WLNS-TV is offering a 1/2 off program that includes Mr. B's. Nancy is working on the new route in Northville and Eunice is working on Brighton. Mary has not had a chance to develop a route for Milford, so that will be tabled for future development. I'll post a notice when I hear from that either the Northville or Brighton routes are ready for test-walking. The submission window for walks starting next summer ends at the end of February. If you are a GLA member and have items you want to put on the agenda for our meeting in Howell in February, please email me. I have a few requests already, including requests for YREs in Crosswinds Marsh, Maybury State Park and events at the Detroit Marathon, Belle Isle and more. Chelane Previous Newletters |

Great Lakes Weekend Bus Trip to Niagara Aug 3 - 5 , 2007 No changes this year for land travel between the US and Canada, so you don't have to have a passport for our Niagara trip! The trip page is up. Registration has already begun! There are pics from the trip to the UP. |
