We had very pleasant weather for our group walk in Birmingham.  The rain didn't come until after we were headed home.  We were happy to welcome 4 new walkers, Amy, Diane, Elaine and Pat.  Pictured above are, standing, Eunice, Dot, Joan, Mary, Jeff, Pat and Chelane, and sitting are Amy, Diane, Nancy and Elaine.

The remaining club t-shirts are 5 L, 3 XL, and 4 XXL.  We now have book covers and some step counters.  All of our stock is in my club tub, which will be with me at all our group walks and events.

If you haven't paid your membership dues yet, they're due this month.  Here's our list of who has paid dues already . . .  Chelane & John Priller, Dot & Rudy Meyers, Joan Ritter, Nancy & Darrell Bratt, Eunice Bottorff, Anne Wohlfiel, Billy Tweedy, Mary & Jim Hinton, Barbara Newtown, Jean Woltjer, John Pierce, Jerry & Juva Lea Thomlison, Mary & Ronald & Alex Winfield, Valerie Meyer, Jeff Taylor, Earl & Lois Sauers, Wilma Fuelling.  Dues are $10 per family for 2006.

Dot and Joan would like to walk Xenia and Yellow Springs in Ohio.  They will be staying overnight on the trip.  My dad and I will be doing Xenia on May 4 at 5 pm, if you would like to join us.

On May 12, Eunice, Joan and I will be heading down to Toledo to do the YRE in Oak Openings Metro Park.  We will be meeting at Eunice's at 9 am to carpool, so if you want to join us, contact Eunice.

Jeff and I will be walking the proposed Haslett route on Saturday, June 3rd.  If you would like to walk with us, meet us at the Blue Gill Grill at 10 am.

Our Port Huron walk is approaching very quickly.  Dot needs to fill out the volunteer assignments, and here's what I think we have so far . . .

Trail Marker set up - walk at 8:30 am Joan, Dot and Dawn
Morning Check Point - 9:30 - 12:30 Rudy and ?
Registration 8:30 - 10:30 Chelane and ?
Registration 10:30 - 12:30 ? and ?
Afternoon Check Point - 12:30 - 3:30 Darrell and ?
Registration 12:30 - 2:30 Joan, Dot
Registration 2:30 - 4:30 Chelane, Nancy
Trail Marker take down - walk at 1:15 ? and ?

Contact Dot if you would like to fill in any of the blanks.  She also needs to know if you are going to bring any snacks to reward our financial donors.  I think Joan is going to make trail mix, and I'm planning on lemon squares.  We'll need other choices.  We'll also need something at the checkpoint like cookies or bags of Chex Mix or something like that.

My Dad and I will be driving from Seattle back to Michigan this and next week.  We'll walk in WA, MT, ND, SD, MN, WI, IL, IN and OH on the way.  I'll be checking my email when I can find libraries with public access, so if you need something not too urgent, go ahead and email me.

See you in Ann Arbor on Sunday, May 7, if not before!
