Eight of us walked Jackson. Back row are Dot, Nancy, Eunice and Jeff and front row are Don, Chelane, Mary and Jim. Mary & Jim's dog, Maggie, walked too. It snowed on us during the walk, but the
wind was very light. The walk was pleasant Jeff Taylor and Don Vartanian joined the club. Dot and Joan were officially voted into their first terms in the Vice President and Treasurer positions respectively. The term of office is 2 years and they may renew then for a second term if they wish. The corrections to the by-laws were approved. We have on hand some blue and orange distance books and some green and salmon event books. These will be available at all of our group walks for $5 each. See the schedule on the right side for the dates we decided at the meeting. Nancy, Chelane and Jeff are going to test walk the Plymouth YRE on Saturday, Feb 18. Please consider joining us! We will meet at 10 am at Bode's Corned Beef House, located at 280 N. Main in Plymouth. Mary is going to develop a YRE in Howell, Jeff will do the same for Haslett, and Chelane is going to set up an out-and-back YRE on the Lakelands Trail State Park (Rail Trail) going east from Stockbridge. We'll work on getting these YRE's ready for submission in August. We are also going to develop regular events for the summer of 2007 in Bald Mountain State Park and Seven Lakes State Park. Our Great Lakes Weekend during Labor Day weekend 2006 is up to 21 reserved seats! We will take a bus up to the UP, do an event in Marquette on Saturday, do an event at Whitefish Point on Sunday and then do the Bridge Walk on the way back down on Monday. We will stay at the Holiday Inn in Marquette and the Castlewood Inn in Trout Lake. The fee for transportation and lodging is $150 for double occupancy and full bus. Event fees ($3 per walk), food and hotel tax would be on top of that. Let me know about your accomplishments, especially if you have some interesting travel stories to pass on! See you in Mason on March 11! Chelane |
